Capt. Paul Plansky started fishing
Cape Cod bay with his father at the age of five, where he started
learning about how to catch bluefish and striped bass. By the age of
fifteen he started his professional fishing career working as a first
mate on a charter boat out of Rock Harbor. Working as a mate he was able
to further hone his fishing skills, not only for bluefish and striped
bass, but also for all the species that live in Cape Cod bay. After
working as a mate Paul became a licensed captain at the age of nineteen
and started to run different charter boats out of Rock Harbor.
Wanting to learn different styles of
fishing as well as wanting to fish year round Paul went to the sport
fishing capital of the world Islamorada Fl. In Islamorada he learned
many different styles of fishing especially live bait fishing. Some of
the fish that he learned how to catch were, sailfish, blue marlin, mahi
mahi or dolphin fish, wahoo, grouper and snapper. This experience proved
to be invaluable when Paul started to fish the canyons of New England
and New Jersey. During this same time he also started big game fishing
for sharks and tunas.
Today he primarily fishes the waters
around New England. Whether it’s taking charters in Cape Cod bay for
bass and bluefish, fishing the back side of Truro for mako, blue and
thresher sharks, catching marlin, mahi, yellow fin tuna, and wahoo in
the canyons, or hunting giant bluefin tuna from the gulf of Maine to
North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Capt. Paul Plansky is ready to take you
out on a trip that you won’t soon forget.
Some of Capt. Paul’s accomplishments:
● Winner of the
2000
Islamorada Poor Girls Sailfish Tournament
● Three top five
finishes in Islamorada sailfish tournaments
● Caught over 180
giant bluefin tuna from 300lbs to 980lbs
● In 1998 landed a
400lb mako shark being the first captain in over 20 years to bring a
mako into Rock Harbor. |

Alex Richov comes aboard the Capt.
Cook this year, bringing his own unique style to the boat. Alex has
spent the last ten years of his fishing career as a shore fisherman
specializing in surfcasting and light tackle top water fishing. This
style fits in quite well with Capt. Paul’s styles of fishing. There are
very few people that can relate to any type of angler; Alex is capable
of talking to the most experienced angler as well as the novice angler.
Whether there are four lines bowed up in the pit, or just one big
slammer on Alex knows exactly how to handle any situation. So sit back
relax and let Alex guide you through a trip you won’t soon forget. |
